Motordepot is proud to announce that by joining forces with Barclays Partner Finance, we have raised a total of £12,570 to be split between two Hull-based charities.
As a result of the joint-initiative, our two nominated charities, L6ve Life Foundation and Life For a Kid, will each benefit from a £6,285 donation.
Set up by motor neurone disease sufferer Lee Newton, the L6ve Life Foundation raises funds to help find a cure for the muscle-wasting condition whilst also providing support to those already living with MND. Meanwhile, Life For a Kid raises funds and provides facilities to help change the lives of physically disadvantaged children.
The money was raised by Motordepot signing up to Barclays' 'Drive For Good' campaign during the months of October and November.
Motordepot spokesman John Brocklehurst said: "Motordepot believes passionately in social responsibility, and that's why we were so keen to partner with Barclays in this initiative. As a result, we've been able to reward two inspirational, local charities with a welcome windfall.
"Hero is an over-used word, but not in the case of Lee Newton.
"The courage, defiance and undaunted spirit he has shown in the face of extreme adversity has inspired a fantastic team around him, and it's brilliant to see the L6ve Life Foundation go from strength-to-strength.
"It's a magnificent cause and it goes without saying that we are proud to contribute.
"As for Life For a Kid, we've been so impressed by the sheer effort, energy and enterprise of everyone involved.
"Each and every week, this charity is making a tangible difference to disadvantaged children's lives and it is an honour to be associated with them.
"Once again, we are just so pleased at being in a position to help."
L6ve Life Foundation (http://l6velife.co.uk/) trustee Carl Wiles said: "All those involved with the L6ve Life charity, especially Lee and his wife Caroline, have been humbled by the support we continue to receive. We can't thank Motordepot enough for this kind and very generous donation."
Life For a Kid (http://www.lifeforakid.com/) founder and Head of Operations Dean Hoggard said the donation had been a "massive boost" and would enable the Beverley Road-based charity to invest in improving its interactive sensory rooms which are enjoyed by disabled children and their families throughout Hull and the East Riding.
Dean added: "Life For a Kid cannot thank Motordepot enough for its support throughout 2015. The money they have raised on our behalf has delivered a massive boost and will be invested in improving our new sensory rooms facility for the benefit of disabled children in the region."
The charity contributions round off a memorable, record-breaking year for Motordepot which has seen us expand to new sites in Birmingham and Grimsby, creating over 60 new jobs in the process.
We'd like to take this opportunity to wish all customers, old and new, a merry Christmas and we look forward to being able to offer some of our strongest ever deals in the new year!
