The launch yesterday of the 2019 Hull Kingston Rovers charity shirt is generating a huge, positive response from the Rugby League community and even further afield.
The new shirt has been launched to mark the 100 year anniversary of the end of World War 1 and features a poppy field design, crosses and silhouettes of soldiers. To be associated with this special shirt is a proud moment for Motordepot.
Hull KR’s Head of Marketing, Ticketing and Retail, Craig Franklin, commented “It’s an absolute honour to reveal this shirt and pay tribute to all those who have made sacrifices to keep us safe.
“Whilst our membership campaign theme for 2019 is Red Army, we felt it was important we also tell the story of the serious side of War and horrific consequences it can have.
“We value our role within the community and acknowledge that we have a role to play to help educate the next generation of supporters on the sacrifices so many made, but also the on-going impact war has had on this City and club.
“We plan to share those stories throughout 2019, with a particular focus on a themed matchday, and we’ll look forward to encouraging supporter participation in this process.
Not to mention, the 100 year anniversary of the end of WW1 provides as a timely place to raise some much need funds to help support those most affected. We’ll be announcing details of the charity partnership which these projects will support very soon and we’ll look forward to working with them throughout 2019.”
Motordepot look forward to working in partnership with Hull Kingston Rovers in 2019 and beyond.
