Does Your Car Make 2020 Car of the Year Shortlist?

Some of the best cars of the last 12 months are in contention for a major prize next week as What Car? names its prestigious Car of the Year Award for 2020.

There are some surprise names to make the list of XX motors, but only one winner in the overall category.

The judges give each car a through review with testing made both on the road and the track with elements such as practicality, reliability and running costs all taken into consideration.

With 27 categories in total there will be plenty of winners when the ceremony is held on Tuesday 14th January, with everything from Small electric car to Luxury SUV under review.

The current trend for major award winners has seen a raft of exciting electric vehicles win the big awards and What Car?’s winner from 2019, the Kia e-Niro maintained that trend.

There are plenty of EVs on the shortlist this year, including the Audi E-tron, the MG ZS EV, the Seat Mii Electric and the Tesla Model 3. Volkswagen, who have won claimed the title a record six times are represented by the T-Cross.

The only criteria for qualification was that it must have been released in the last 12 months and be available to order on the day of the award ceremony.
