Is Your Car A World Car of the Year Contender?

A distinguished panel of eighty-six motoring journalists will judge the winner of the prestigious World Car of the Year to be revealed in New York on April 8th.

A shortlist of ten cars will be battling to follow in the tyremarks of the Jaguar I-Pace to claim the coveted award, with the year’s best vehicles also competing in categories such as World Urban Car, World Luxury Car, World Performance Car and the World Car Design of the Year.

Now in its 16th year, the World Car Awards aim to recognize, reward and inspire excellence, leadership and innovation in a rapidly changing automotive industry. The winners will be unveiled at the New York International Auto Show.

The shortlisted contenders for the main award are: Hyundai Sonata, Kia Soul EV, Kia Telluride, Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, Mazda3, Mazda CX-30, Mercedes-Benz CLA, Mercedes-Benz GLB, Volkswagen Golf and Volkswagen T-Cross.

The other categories contenders are as follows: 

2020 World Urban Car finalists: Kia Soul EV, Mini Electric, Peugeot 208, Renault Clio, Volkswagen T-Cross

2020 World Luxury Car finalists: BMW X5, BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz EQC, Porsche 911, Porsche Taycan
