Rimac Does 0-60mph In Just 1.85 Seconds

Croatia’s awesome supercar, the Rimac Nevera, has broken new ground and can now call itself the fastest accelerating road-legal carin the world, after clocking a stunning time, made all the more impressive by the fact that it’s an electric engine.

The Nevera was launched this week to great fanfare, and while Tesla may be grabbing all the EV headlines, it is the work of Rimac which is the one to look out for, particularly if you like fast and furious motors.

Formerly known as the C-Two concept, the Nevera could be yours for a cool £2million, but it surely justifies its price-tag when you consider the stats. It can hot 100mph in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 258mph, it also boasts a range of 340 miles - though it is unlikely that you would achieve that driving at top speeds. An 80 per cent battery recharge can be reached in just 19 minutes.

“This is it. This is the car I had in mind when I embarked on the 'impossible' journey ten years ago. All our hard work has resulted in the the Nevera - our record-breaking hypercar,” said founder and chief executive of Rimac, Automobili, Mate Rimac.

“This car was born to outperform, and to raise the bar, redefining the norm for performance cars. And not only in performance – but as an all-round package.

“The Nevera proves what is possible when there are no restraints placed on technology, development, or ambition.

“We will be making just 150 examples of the Nevera, every single unit crafted in Croatia from passion and admiration for cars.”

The company’s owner has promised to test-drive every single on the 150 Neveras that leave the production line before they are delivered to the lucky customers.
